Breezing through the Run

How do you get your mind off of that crucial marathon, the one that is billed as 'the flattest and fastest'? By bringing your kids to the pre-race fun runs and watching their agony and ecstacy of participating in their own event.

The kids wear running numbers, receive medals for crossing the finish line and although these runs are billed as fun runs, they get their often times first taste of competition. But the runs are meant to be fun and there is lots of fun to be had. Here's a young fellow who had more fun than most, just like, 'My Son John', he ran with one shoe off and one shoe on, proving that yes, it is pretty darn hard to find a good pair of running shoes today!

But 'John' alias Justin Andrews had lots of support today, that made up for his lost shoe. He was here participating with his family from Boston. He provided them with a couple of laughs and lots of proud moments. Here are a few more photos. Click on the thumbnails to view.

Editor's Note: Thanks to Jackie Tyler and Epi for putting on this fun event for kids. And GOOD LUCK to all of the people who have their hearts set on qualifying for Boston tomorrow.
