Gentle Massage for Dan after a Tough Race

The 90% humidity didn't stop a couple hundred runners from enjoying today's 10th Annual Deary Memorial 5 Mile Road Race. Young and old ran up and down the hills and in and out of ice cold hose sprays. It was a cozy crowd that gathered inside JD Cooperman's Pub for popcorn and ceremony after the race. The photos should give you a sense of what it's like to participate in a small town New England Road Race for a community cause, funds to go to the local hospital in memory of Cathy Deary who died at too young of an age of cancer.

And the winner of the boys under 12 category is Tim Deary. Big trophy for a big win.

Here's the winner of the girls under 12 category. She had a lightning fast run
and broke the course record!

Ryan Carrara took his category and the race with a time of 25:52.
Ryan has a message for all the young runners who read this page. Here it is. Stick with training for a long period of time. It is not a sport that yields immediate or drastic results so improvements come after a long time and only after a lot of work during that time.
